had my hair dyed in darkest brown as d roots have grown more den 4 inches. neither me or ppl i know r used to c me in black hair. i feel like havin a wig on... haha. darker shade is more suitable for work too. yea ... i'll b reportin to a new company 2mr. =)

last saturday me & mum went shoppin cos i need to get sum working attire, semi-formal ones. bought 4 pieces as they're reli cheap. clockwise from top left: sleeveles shirt, knitted top, floral-print skirt, slacks.

plans for today:
  • send garments to d laundry for dry-cleaning
  • develop sum photos

Padini is going to open 2mr! more choices for shoppers. however, their clothings r not worth d price. d quality is poor. washed dem several times & u'll find d material gettin looser, especially their jeans & t shirts which i bought in KL. only buy dem when there's 50% discount ... hehehe :P

not long ago, as usual me & cow visit Esprit. we're definitely their regular visitors. their fashion line is very pricey. there r several pieces i've fallen in luv wif *ahem* but by d time there's discount/sale, dey no longer hav my size. here's 1 of d piece i reli like loh:

priced at RM169.90 ... can b worn to work / outing ... depending on wad u pair it wif.

p/s dis d mini tote bag i bought from Parkson, Sharon.

17-20th March Sibu trip

[Hotel]

Our hotel overall is considered below average. D most astonishing part was when we wanted hot water. We couldn't find electric kettle in our room, there's only a flask sittin on d table. We called up room service & a guy holding a pot of hot water knocked our door. He then transfered d hot water into our flask! This is so hilarious!!! I've never ever encountered such thing in my whole life ... haha. Their hotel rooms use split-level air cond units instead of built-in ones.

Very small coffee house which serves very few types of dishes for breakfast.

1st day - Toast bread, baked beans, boiled eggs, sausages, plain rice
2nd day - Half-boiled eggs, sausages (again), fried noodle, long beans
3rd day - Scrambled eggs, sausages (not again?!), porridge, fish (can food) & one more which i cant recall

[Places]

I believe Sanyan is d largest shopping mall in Sibu?

Thier UCS college... very very big compound!!! The pic might not be big enough to show that the colors of their logo actually is d same as Swinburne's. Hmmm...

[Da BIG event]
D main reason we were in Sibu is cos of my mum's award ceremony. She received PPT medal on 19th March 2008 from TYT. Dewan Suarah's d place where d event was held. Award recipients & guests were asked to arrived an hour earlier b4 d event started, which was 930 a.m. The arrival of TYT was greeted with live band playing our national anthem Negaraku & Ibu Pertiwiku.
Guests were not allowed to take photos when recipients received medals from TYT. Only their assigned photographers were allowed to do so. Hence, we took some photos only after d ceremony ended.

Everyone had to be dressed in proper & very formal attire. Dat was also d 1st time i wore a baju kurung.

[Food]
Their food is very very cheap. Normally in Kch, if 3 of us were to order 4 types of dishes, it would definitely cost more than RM30. Furthermore we tend to ask them prepare d dishes for 2-ppl instead of 3.

We headed to dis market for our 1st dinner in Sibu. Its very similar to our Petanak / Kenyalang market.

with 3 starving stomachs, my dad ordered 4 dishes, which are sea cucumber soup, chicken, pork & fried bean sprout.

D dishes were good & i would consider d portions more den jus for 3 ppl. P/s Dis pic was taken minutes after 3 of us "attacked" dem.

We finished every thing! Haha ...

Happier part would be d bill. As I've mentioned earlier, if u were to eat 4 dishes like this in Kch, d estimated price is surely more than RM30. with each dishes ranging from RM8 to 10, u'll end up paying RM32-RM40 for d dinner.

Ok ... long story cut short. My dad approached d boss to pay for our dinner. He walked back to his seat wif a wide grin cos ...

d
dinner costs us RM20 ...

amazingly cheap!!! unbelievable eh?!

My family can be crowned Makan King & Queen when it comes to food. :P And of cos tasting Sibu's famous local delights should not be missed, which include their 'Kam Pua' noodle & kong piah. We brought back around 40-50 pieces of kong piah, 20 for ourselves & d remaining for frens & relatives.

Other den dat ... we carried back few plastic bags full of sweets. D special tin bout dem is d shapes n sizes. In Kch, normally they sell these white candies wif black sesame & maybe red bean filling. Sibu turned dem into Heart shapes and also added in diff flavours like chocolate filling, pandan, 'san cha'...

My dad used to work in Sibu for a year when he was still wif Inland Revenue. Mum spent around 4 years of her childhood days in Sibu as well. 3 of us visited Sibu 2gether many years ago, I was only 9. returning to a place my parens r familiar with is like rewinding d tape inside their brain.

Sibu, although a small town, has its own interesting part. Most of d places r within walking distance. We did not use d taxi other den going to Airport & Dewan Suarah. structure of d streets more o less can be linked to India Street / Petaling Street / Carpenter Street.

We spent 3 late evenings in our hotel room as there's not many interesting places to go. Watching tv was d activity we did b4 bed time.

We flew back on 2oth March to Kch. D journey took us approximately 35 minutes, which feels like a car ride. hehe ...

finally sending my laptop off for repair 2mr!! hehe ... guess i'll only blog after my 4 days 3 nites Sibu trip. its a boring small town ... how nice if mum's receiving award in KL where more shoppin can b done!

i'm livin a boring life now. back to basics eh? a one-month-break is enough for me ... hopefully will be working next mth. one of d disadvantages of being attached to work is u cant go travelin anytime we want, especially newbies (who don have much leave). mum found cheap flights to Penang ... and now there's Matta fair.

Spring is d place i visited d most due to d reason of havin a fren who's so into Esprit =D we're oways there, checkin out discounts or new arrivals ... hehehe. roxy has prettier t-shirts but a lot pricey. dey're very stingy in givin discounts. spotted sooo many nicer roxy bags online. kch's roxy outlet has lesser varieties compared to KL ones.

d prints r cute but dun reli like d shape of d bag. reminds me of a diaper bag O_O. hahaha

hungry & sleepy ... so gudnite!

done wif da 2nd interview wif a big company. met sam at d co's lobby cos my interview was after his. boss wil keep me in touch again so i dunno if its a "yes" or "no" yet... *fingers crossed*

nex Mon - Thurs will be spent in Sibu cos my mum's receiving sum award from her office. *proud of my mum ... hehehe* dad & i r goin over to show our support =) attire has to be very formal where we'll be dressed in baju kurung, baju kebaya, batik ... etc. da 1st time i've been to sibu was years ago when i was only 9. cant remember any single tin.

i visited 2 nail salon to ask if they provide training for newbies who wish to work wif dem. one is called nail**good and d other one D'n**l house. nail**good is such a pretty salon wif stylish interior deco. d boss wasnt in so haven got d chance to ask bout d job. D'n**l house is very poorly decorated. trainin wil b provided for newbies but its applicable for full-timer only. nail course is around RM1800 ... i dun trus d cert given by dem tho ... *ehehe* i've surveyed singapore nail academies online. 1st impression is not bad, seems pro. i've always wanted to work/ study in sg. well, step by step la. we'll c how things go for my interview 1st.

d tin i like bout singapore is d city is so clean & safer. not so many crimes. haha. however, if d pay is just ok, one mite not b able to save up. mayb jus enough for basic needs - rental, public transportation fee, food, necessities.

currently workin on a self project - nail magazine. nah ... d pictures in d mag r taken from d internet cos i haven done dat many nail art projects yet to b compiled in2 a book. lolz...

so hopefully will blog bout a gud news upon my interview in my nex entry =P

pOoofff* all gone!

(>___<)#

oh well ... certain things cannot be kept forever ... (-=__=-)

here's a set of nail art i did:

not very pro-looking yet ... hehe. few more pics to edit b4 puttin it up here.

it came to my surprise when i realise its March already. its not ez to plan yo own future when u reli had to make a decision. though i've gained knowledge & experience from my prev company, i still feel dat 2 months of 2008 passed by without me myself doing anytin productive. i'm at sum kind of crossroads now, not knowing which way to take ... hmmm

i still hold on to my dreams of course ...

went 3 bookstores, hopin to 'meet' sum nice books or magazines. but den ... d bookstores don seem to know dat they need to replenish more books like how much our skin needs to replenish water. so kesian u know ... so few books in a big bookstore.

2 of my wisdom tooth r growing. it hurts but d ulcer at d back of my jaw hurts even more. however, it doesnt stop me from eatin n munchin ... hehehehe.

feelin hungry ... c u guys again

im so glad to have stopped working at my previous company. i was like a donkey there for over 2 weeks. d other designer was never as busy as i was for as long as i cud remember. i simply have to do plenty of things, which include helping others to print artwork, answer phone calls, lots & lots of work are thrown at me! dey tin im an OCTOPUS isit?!

i couldnt even relax even during my lunch break. there're 2 staff who always came into d designer's room & say " Khai Ching ... later do this.... Khai Ching ... this must b done today arh ... bla bla bla... " common lah ... lunch hour oso bully me. i requested for a testimonial 2 weeks b4 i left. after days of reminding & rushing, finally i received it half hour b4 i headed home on d last day. #__#

initially i was very glad to have gotten dis job for i fear dat there's high possibility dat i'll b jobless for months. honestly d staff dae r quite ok, excep for d receptionist & lady boss who is bias. i know fresh graduates shouldnt expect a good pay but this company is paying me way too low. other freshies would have gotten double d pay ok as a start!

after i was workin wif dem for mth, lady boss said dat i no longer under probation, which means she has to pay me EPF & Socso. but no ... i didnt receive any. i requested for an offer letter too but she refused to give me.

reminder:
  • try to get an offer letter stating that the company is hiring you as their staff.
  • EPF & Socso is a must
my prev company's situated in Pending, where it is surrounded by factories & all dat. quite a deserted area. d chinese kopitiam downstairs closed down after a mth i was dae =_=. illegal immigrants can always be seen loitering around. d place is very quiet by d time i finish work.

for d whole mth of Feb, i've sent in my resume to many companies no matter big organizations or small ones. i was called for several interview sessions as well & at d moment only 2 are impressive from wad i c. its not ez to attend interviews when u're workin at d same time. i had to take few off days bcos most companies close at 5 or 530 as well. i turned down a small firm located at Chong Lin. i wasnt comfortable wif d environment especially when d interviewee emphasize on OT (over time). basically d place is just a small room wif tables around. i was pretty speechless when i saw dat. hahaha...

here starts my holiday after FOUR years of Uni!!! didnt manage to stretch out cos i started work d nex day after my exam. (@_@)|||

nah ... i'm not jus gonna b a couch potato or lazy pig at home.

things i can do:
  • brush up my baking & nail art skills.
  • send my laptop to repair (after months of delaying)
  • search for more job opportunities & able to have interviews more freely
  • go places dat r usually packed & lack of parking spaces during weekends ... haha
  • ... ... stil thinkin
til den ... bubye~
